GTI Announces a Long-Term Lease Agreement with Sinopec Geophysical Corporation
Geophysical Technology Inc. (“GTI”) announces that it has signed a long-term lease agreement with Sinopec Geophysical Corporation for the lease of their NuSeis recording system, comprised of NRU 1C nodes and all ancillary equipment. The project started in January 2018 and is scheduled to complete in Q3 2018. The seismic survey is located in the harsh jungles of northern Myanmar.

Coupling Matters
A step change in the evolution of seismic recording systems began 10 years ago with the commercialization of high-channel-count autonomous nodal recording systems. While nodal recording systems such as the seismic group recorder were introduced decades prior, the advent of high-capacity lithium ion and polymer batteries, the reduction in the cost of solid-state memory and the availability of low-power and low-cost GPS chips changed everything.

Marine seismic isn’t the only realm where new technologies are making their mark. by Rhonda Duey, Executive Editor of EP Magazine A lot of focus in recent years has centered on marine seismic technology-wide- and full-azimuth acquisition, broadband acquisition, ocean-bottom nodes and full waveform inversion, to name a few. But a revolution is taking place on land […]

Vantage Geophysical completes groundbreaking 3D Seismic program in West Texas using NuSeis NRU 1C technology
During the first quarter of 2017, Vantage Geophysical acquired its first 3D program in West Texas using GTI’s NuSeis™ NRU 1C autonomous seismic recording technology. The survey totaled 19.3 square miles of surface area in some of the toughest terrain found in the Rolling Plains region. “We could not have shot this job as quickly and efficiently as we did using any other nodal system,” stated Robert Beal, Owner and President of Vantage Geophysical.

I, Robot: Automation Meets Land Seismic Acquisition
It had to happen. With all of the myriad technological breakthroughs in seismic acquisition technology, one of the anachronisms has been the laying out of cables or nodes on land. It is a laborious process that requires considerable manpower. And with the constant demand for increased channel count, it has become a stumbling block to productivity. “People are talking about […]
